چکیده

Navua sedge is a difficult-to-control perennial in north Australian farming systems, including fallow fields, pastures, and along roadsides fencelines. A set of pot trials were conducted to evaluate the performance different herbicides when used alone or mixtures on sizes plants, adjuvant treatments rainfastness halosulfuron-methyl. Glyphosate at 1080 g·ha−1, halosulforon-methyl 49 paraquat 600 g·ha−1 provided complete control 6-leaf stage. Azimsulfuron 20 resulted 18% 39% survival 14 18 leaf stage 60–70 respectively. Compared with nontreated, this herbicide treatment suppressed plant biomass by 99.6% 93%, respectively, surviving plants did not produce seed heads. sole application azimsulfuron, glyphosate, halosulfuron-methyl was effective very large (140–150 stage; 40–42 cm tall) sedge. However, mixture any two currently adjuvants 0.5 1% concentrations, use non-ionic high concentrations (i.e., 2% ActivatorTM, HastenTM, UptakeTM) improved halosulfuron-methy applied This study identified (e.g., azimsulfuron-based combinations) for management

Response of Deeproot Sedge (Cyperus entrerianus) to Herbicide and Prescribed Fire in Texas Coastal Prairie

Introduced accidentally from South America, deeproot sedge is rapidly expanding in a variety of habitats throughout the southeastern United States. Of particular concern is its rapid expansion, naturalization, and formation of monocultures in Texas coastal prairie, one of the most imperiled temperate ecoregions in North America. The objective of this research was to examine how deeproot sedge r...

PEST MANAGEMENT: WEEDS Control Options for Acetolactate Synthase- Resistant Smallflower Umbrella Sedge in Arkansas Rice

Smallflower umbrella sedge is an increasingly problematic weed in direct-seeded rice in Arkansas. Recently, a sample collected from an Arkansas rice field was confirmed resistant to halosulfuron (Permit). Studies were conducted to determine the effectiveness of various acetolactate synthase (ALS)-inhibiting herbicides on control of the resistant biotype relative to a susceptible biotype and to ...

Biosynthetic pathway of insect juvenile hormone III in cell suspension cultures of the sedge Cyperus iria.

In most insect species, juvenile hormones regulate critical physiological processes such as metamorphosis and reproduction. In insects, these sesquiterpenoids are synthesized by retrocerebral endocrine organs, the corpora allata, via the classical mevalonate (MVA) pathway. One of these compounds, juvenile hormone III (JH III), has also been identified in the sedge Cyperus iria. In higher plants...

Pharmacologic management of atrial fibrillation: established and emerging options.

BACKGROUND In patients with atrial fibrillation (AF), antiarrhythmic drug therapy currently plays a greater role in maintaining sinus rhythm after cardioversion than it does in converting AF to sinus rhythm. Amiodarone is the most effective antiarrhythmic agent for maintaining sinus rhythm after cardioversion in patients with AF. However, its pharmacokinetics is complex; the drug interacts with...
